The short answer: Most Bora Bora vacation packages bundle the same pieces: a round-trip flight to Tahiti, the domestic flight to Bora Bora, airport and boat transfers, hotel nights and usually daily breakfast. In October 2026, packages for travel from Los Angeles on Air Tahiti Nui's website started from about $5,100 to $5,600 per person, based on two people sharing. They can beat booking the pieces yourself, but only if you compare them line by line.
- Usually included: flights, inter-island air, shared transfers, breakfast, taxes.
- Usually extra: most dinners, drinks, tours, resort fees and travel insurance.
- Biggest trap: a low "from" price that only applies to one room type, one departure city and a few weeks of travel.
What Bora Bora vacation packages typically include
Whether an airline, tour operator or travel advisor sells it, almost every Bora Bora package is built from the same blocks:
- International flights to Papeete (PPT), usually in economy from Los Angeles or San Francisco.
- The domestic hop from Tahiti to Bora Bora on Air Tahiti or Air Moana, about 50 minutes.
- Transfers: airport to hotel on Tahiti, and the boat from Bora Bora's airport to your resort.
- Hotel nights, often one night on Tahiti plus several on Bora Bora, sometimes with Moorea in between.
- Meals: daily breakfast is standard. Dinners appear in some packages, not most.
What sits outside the bundle matters as much. Drinks, most dinners, lagoon tours, spa time and travel insurance are normally extra. Our all-inclusive and meal plan guide explains how half board works at each resort, so we won't repeat it here.
Bora Bora trips for 2: what real packages cost in October 2026
Package prices are almost always quoted per person, based on two people sharing a room ("double occupancy" or "twin share"). For a couple, double the headline. Here are two examples listed on Air Tahiti Nui's US website in October 2026, sold by partner tour operators:
| Package (as listed) | Bora Bora stay | Included | From, per person | For two |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tahiti Fly & Stay, Tahiti & Bora Bora (9 days) | 5 nights, Overwater Villa at Conrad Bora Bora Nui; 1 night on Tahiti | LAX flights, inter-island air, transfers, daily breakfast | $5,149 (1 Nov to 13 Dec 2026); up to $7,249 June to October | About $10,300 |
| Romantic Bora Bora Overwater & Tahiti w/tours | 3 nights, Lagoon View Overwater Bungalow at InterContinental Le Moana; nights on Tahiti and Moorea | LAX flights, inter-island air, ferry, transfers, breakfast, Moorea dinners, two 4x4 tours | $5,599 (15 Jan to 31 Mar 2027) | About $11,200 |
For context, Conrad Bora Bora Nui overwater villas started from about $2,500 a night in July 2026. Five nights at that rate is $12,500 before a single flight. Room rates in November and early December can be lower, so price your own dates. Still, the gap shows why tour operators, who buy rooms in bulk, are worth checking. InterContinental Le Moana is the cheaper overwater option of the two, from about $700 a night.
Bora Bora honeymoon packages and couples vacation packages
A honeymoon package is usually a regular package with a romantic name and a small extra: a bottle of bubbly, a flower-decorated bed, a couples' dinner or an upgrade if one is free. The Le Moana package above, for example, lists "applicable honeymoon amenities" without spelling them out. Ask what that line means in writing before you pay extra for the label.
"Couples vacation packages" are mostly the same products. The useful question is not what it's called but which room you get, how many dinners are included and which tours are bundled. Our Bora Bora honeymoon guide covers resorts, timing and the extra costs to check. If you're also getting married, read the Bora Bora wedding guide first, because only a civil ceremony at the town hall is legally binding.
All-inclusive Bora Bora packages: read the meal line
True all-inclusive, with every meal and drink covered, is rare on Bora Bora. When a listing says "all-inclusive," check three things: whether dinner is every night or only on certain nights, whether it is a set menu or à la carte, and whether drinks are covered (usually they aren't). On a motu resort you'll eat almost every meal where you sleep, so a package with dinners can save real money. Near Matira, breakfast only is often enough because you can walk to local restaurants.
How to compare Bora Bora packages side by side
Two packages at the same price can be very different trips. Line them up on these points:
- Same room, same view. "Overwater bungalow" can mean an entry unit facing the reef or a premium unit facing Mount Otemanu. Compare the exact category name.
- Nights on Bora Bora. A nine-day package with three Bora Bora nights is a different value from one with five.
- Travel dates and city. The Conrad package's lowest price applied only to 1 November to 13 December 2026 from Los Angeles. Other dates were "by quote."
- Taxes and fees. Some packages include them; some leave resort fees and the per-night city tax to pay at checkout. At Le Moana, room rates carry 16.595% tax and service plus XPF 200 per person per night city tax (October 2026).
- Arrival timing. If your international flight lands too late for a connection, a night on Tahiti should be built in.
- Change rules. The Le Moana package states that air tickets are non-refundable once issued and charges $200 per person to change them.
- Resort status. Any package still selling the InterContinental Thalasso or either Sofitel is out of date: all three are closed. Check our resort status page.
Then check the season. Tahiti Tourisme advises booking four to six months ahead for better rates and notes that last-minute offers are rare in French Polynesia.
Booking protection basics for Bora Bora vacation packages
A package is a big prepaid purchase, often with non-refundable parts. A few habits protect your money:
- Check who is actually selling it. A package on an airline's site may be sold by a partner tour operator. The fine print names them; that company's cancellation policy is the one that applies.
- Look for a seller of travel number. California and Florida, among other states, require travel sellers to register. California's Attorney General says the registration number should be on all advertising, and that registration alone doesn't prove a seller is reputable. You can look sellers up on the AG's site.
- Pay by credit card. If something you paid for isn't delivered, US law lets you dispute the charge within 60 days of the statement it first appeared on. Debit cards carry weaker protection.
- Get every inclusion in writing: room category, number of dinners, transfer type and tour names.
- Buy travel insurance that covers cancellation and medical evacuation. Bora Bora has no hospital, and the November to April wet season brings cyclone risk.
- Confirm with the resort about 30 days out that your booking, room type and transfer are on file.
How to build your own Bora Bora getaway
Building your own gives you control over every night. Work in this order:
- International flights first. They set your dates. Air Tahiti Nui and Air France fly from Los Angeles; United and French Bee fly from San Francisco; Hawaiian flies from Honolulu. Our flights to Bora Bora guide compares routes.
- The domestic flight. Book Air Tahiti or Air Moana from Papeete; budget about $300 to $600 round trip. Leave a buffer after your international arrival.
- The resort, direct. Resorts run their own offers. In October 2026 the Four Seasons was advertising a fourth night free with breakfast on selected dates through August 2028, and its offer page says shared airport transfers are included with all stays. Le Moana offered up to 35% off for stays of seven nights or more, booked direct. Hotel points help too: the Conrad belongs to Hilton, Le Moana to IHG, and two of the big motu resorts to Marriott.
- Transfers. Most motu resorts charge about $100 to $300 per person round trip for the boat. See Bora Bora airport transfers.
- Tours later. Lagoon tours and sunset sails rarely need booking months ahead outside July, August and the December holidays.
Add it up in our trip cost calculator and compare it with the package total for the same dates and room.
Package or DIY: which Bora Bora vacation suits you?
We'd look hard at a package if you're flying from Los Angeles, want one motu resort for five nights or more, and like having one company to call if a flight changes. The bulk rates can be very good, and the transfers are handled for you.
We'd build our own if you're using hotel points, splitting your stay between two Bora Bora resorts, flying from somewhere a package doesn't cover, or chasing a direct resort offer like a free night. It also makes sense for budget trips based near Matira, where a package adds little. Either way, get two quotes for the same room and dates before you decide.
Frequently asked questions
What is included in a Bora Bora vacation package?
Usually round-trip international flights to Tahiti, the Air Tahiti or Air Moana flight to Bora Bora, transfers, hotel nights and daily breakfast. Dinners, drinks, tours, resort fees and travel insurance are often extra, so read the inclusions list.
How much is a Bora Bora vacation package for 2?
In October 2026, packages from Los Angeles listed on Air Tahiti Nui's website started from about $5,149 to $5,599 per person, so roughly $10,300 to $11,200 for two. High-season dates and better rooms cost more.
Are there all-inclusive Bora Bora packages?
A few packages include breakfast and dinner, but true all-inclusive with drinks is rare. Check whether dinner is every night, which restaurants it covers and whether drinks are included before you book.
Is it cheaper to book a Bora Bora package or book it yourself?
It depends on the dates and room. Tour operators buy rooms in bulk, so packages can beat booking separately. Building your own wins if you use hotel points or catch a direct resort offer. Price both for the same room.
How far in advance should I book a Bora Bora package?
Tahiti Tourisme suggests four to six months ahead for better rates and availability, and more for July, August and the December holidays. Last-minute deals are rare in French Polynesia.
How do I know a travel package seller is legitimate?
Check the seller of travel registration where your state requires one, such as California or Florida, read the cancellation policy, and pay by credit card so you can dispute charges for services not delivered.
