The island has just one nightclub, Le Récif near Vaitape, open late on club nights. Otherwise resorts host weekly Polynesian dance and fire shows, beach bars serve tropical cocktails at sunset, and dinner itself is the main event. Vaitape has a handful of casual local bars.

$$$Bora Bora nightlife: Polynesian show nights at the resorts
For most visitors, the best night out in Bora Bora is a Polynesian dance evening at a resort, usually a buffet of local dishes followed by drumming, dancing and often fire dancing. Each resort hosts these on set nights, so it's worth planning your week around them. Here's what the resorts list on their official pages (schedules change, so confirm when you arrive):
- The St. Regis Bora Bora: Polynesian Night dinner and show on Wednesdays at Te Pahu, the resort's beachside restaurant, starting at 6:30pm.
- Conrad Bora Bora Nui: Polynesian show nights with a traditional buffet on Mondays and Fridays at Tamure Beach Grill.
- InterContinental Le Moana: theme nights with a buffet and traditional dance show at Noa Noa restaurant, listed as Tuesdays and Saturdays in high season, plus dance or fire-dance performances at the Vini Vini bar.
- Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora: Oro'a, a Polynesian evening with dance and fire performances and a set menu of traditional Tahitian food.
- Maitai Polynesia: a weekly live entertainment night near Matira, one of the more affordable ways to see a show.
Staying somewhere without a show? Ask your concierge to call another resort and check whether outside guests can book the dinner and show.
Bars and nightclubs in Bora Bora
The one true nightclub is Le Récif, on the coast road heading from Vaitape toward Faanui, just before the Bora Bora Yacht Club. It opens late on club nights, roughly Wednesday to Saturday. Arrange your ride home before you head out.
For a drink on the main island, the Bora Bora Yacht Club near Vaitape runs a bar and pub that Tahiti Tourisme lists as open daily from 10:30am to 11pm in 2026. It also offers diners on the main island a free taxi transfer from 5pm. Resort bars are the other main option. The St. Regis's 727 Bar serves cocktails and tapas on a terrace known for sunset views toward Mount Otemanu, and the Four Seasons pairs sunset cocktails with its overwater Vaimiti restaurant.
Bloody Mary's, once the island's most famous bar, closed in November 2023. It's due to reopen with the new Bloody Mary's Hotel, which lists itself as "Opening October 2026." Check before you go.
Festivals and special nights
- Heiva (July): the July festival season brings traditional dance and music performances, a good reason to plan a July trip.
- Holiday season: resorts put on festive programs. For 2026, The Westin Bora Bora has announced a New Year's Eve White Party at its 'O'A Bar with live DJ sets, dancing and fireworks over the lagoon.
